ORNL/UT Collaborating Scientist Recipient of an Erskine Fellowship (August 1998) Dr. Robert Compton, ORNL/UT Collaborating Scientist, will be spending the months of September and October in New Zealand as the recipient of an Erskine Fellowship. Dr. Compton will make his base at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch where he will teach a class in laser spectroscopy and give a series of lectures, including four public presentations on the World War II Manhattan Project. Compton is a professor of physics and chemistry at the University of Tennessee, with a collaborating position in the Biochemistry and Biophysics Section of Life Sciences Division.
